Description

"USS Monitor: A Historic Ship Completes Its Final Voyage” was released in February 2012 to celebrate the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Civil War iron clad that changed modern naval warfare. The USS Monitor sank on December 31, 1862, in stormy seas in an area off of North Carolina’s coast known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic, and its final resting place became America’s first national marine sanctuary. Books signed by author Dr. John Broadwater are exclusively sold through the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation.

The Lone Star Book Review gives "USS Monitor: A Historic Ship Completes Its Final Voyage" a "Wow +" rating and says, "This is one really nice book!  This covers the complete history of the USS MONITOR from day one up to the present salvage operation of the turret and two cannons. This includes the preservation operation of the items found inside the turret.  This book will be the standard for the history of the USS MONITOR."
